Becon is truly a beacon of light.
Hey blog, we film in a couple days! Tomorrow, I will be going on a field trip (we are going to a state-level competition for drama!!!), so I wanted to make sure that I recorded my experience today getting my filming equipment because it was not only relieving but also fun.
My twin sister is also doing her Portfolio Project for the class and I have a friend in CBTV (the television program at our school) who used Beacon's free equipment for her short film. Once we saw all of the equipment she checked out ranging from a tripod to camera mics, we decided we should probably do the same thing.
So, today after school we went over to the area and met with one of the people who oversees people Jim. He was really inviting and gave us a rundown of how to use the equipment, as well as a tour of the place but that's beside the point. I rented out a pretty beginner-friendly Canon camera, and will also be using the tripod that my sister rented out. Regarding an additional mic, I decided that we don't NEED to get one as our opening doesn't include a whole lot of dialogue. The lighting in our first filming location (office) is bright, and if we need any brighter lighting Isabel has a ring light we can use. For our second filming location (Isabel's house), we wanted a darker lighting for some of the clips either way, so we didn't want to check out any lighting equipment.
Below is the camera we will be using to film that also came with 2 extra batteries and a charger for the batteries:
